Mayor Emano creates Agora Task Force

[AdSense01] City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano yesterday created a taskforce that will ensure the smooth implementation of the redevelopment of the Agora and Integrated Bus Terminal. 

In an executive order, Mayor Emano named re-elected city councilor Reynaldo Advincula as chair of the Agora and IBT Redevelopment Task Force.

Mayor Emano said that the task force is tasked among others, to conduct an inventory of stallholders and facilitate the smooth placement and transfer of affected vendors to an area that will be identified as temporary market place.

The task force is also tasked to assist the project proponent who will undertake the redevelopment of Agora on a build-operate-transfer scheme, on matters relating to the clearing of the Agora and the integrated bus terminal.

Mayor Emano authorized the taskforce to tap market officials and personnel to undertake duties and functions relative to the tasks.

Other members of the task force include Deputy City Police Director Antonio Montalba, City Treasurer Lino Daral, Market Supervisor Zosimo Chaves,  IBT Supervisor-Designate Eduardo Alimpos,  Engr. Isidro Borja of the City Planning and Development Office, Alberto Poquita of barangay Lapasan and a representative of the Roads and Traffic Administration as determined by the task  force.

Meanwhile, Mayor Emano pointed out that regular vendors of Agora and IBT will be the priority beneficiaries once redevelopment project is completed.

The redevelopment of the Agora and Integrated Bus Terminal will commence with a ceremonial groundbreaking and capsule-laying on June 20, this year.

Capitol cites role in veggie congress

THE Provincial Government Wednesday called on stakeholders in Northern Mindanao's vegetable industry to work hand in hand with local government units (LGUs) in order to propel the field to greater exposure in the global community.

Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno in a speech said he remains optimistic that things are looking bright for the vegetable industry in Northern Mindanao.

The governor is expected to outline his achievements in the agriculture sector in his upcoming State of the Province Address at the end of this month.
