HLURB approves Oro's CLUP

[AdSense01] The city can now lure more foreign and local investors to pour investments here.

This, after the Housing Land Use and Regulatory Board (HLURB) chaired by Vice President Noli De Castro, approved the Cagayan de Oro Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) recently.

The approval came after City Planning and Development Officer Estrella Sagaral recently presented the city?s CLUP together with Cagayan de Oro City Vice Mayor Michelle Tagarda-Spiers in Manila.

Sagaral said that it was the first ever CLUP and Zoning Ordinance the city has presented before top officials from the Department of Interior and Local Government and National Economic Development Authority and other members of the HLURB.

With the approval of the CLUP, investors now have a clearer picture of the city?s developmental plans and its identified growth areas for investment purposes.

She expressed optimism that with the HLURB?s approval of the city?s CLUP, Cagayan de Oro becomes a globally-competitive and investor-friendly city where investors can easily access vital information such as the cost of commercial space, presence of required labor, access to medical facilities and services and access to potable water, among others.

Sagaral said that the approval eventually help sell the city?s investment potentials to prospective investors, especially among realtors and industrialists.

The CLUP is a set of specific goals for the city?s development in the next ten years as envisioned and crafted by all the sectors in the city. A product of a multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholders consultations, the CLUP envisions to transform Cagayan de Oro into a cosmopolitan capital of Northern Mindanao where business, trade, financial, educational and medical services go hand in hand with the needs of the people.
