[AdSense01] The city government earned a total of P883,797,306.34 million from January to October, this year.
City treasurer Lino Daral disclosed that the bulk of the city?s initial income came from collection in real property tax, business tax, Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) share, fees and charges.
Of the total figure, the city collected P86,022,811.29 million from real property tax; P259,856,219.48 million from business tax; P458,247,823.17 million from IRA and P79,670,452.40 million from fees and other charges.
The total income of the city during the 10-month period is 13.09% higher than of the same period last year which is only P768,107,027.47 million.
With the remarkable increase of the city?s income, Daral thanked the taxpayers for promptly paying their taxes to the city government even as he reminded them that December 31 is the last day of payment of real property tax.
Daral pointed out that if the taxpayers pay on time, the public will reap the benefits since the generated income of the city government gained from taxes will be primarily used to fund socio-economic projects.
On the other hand, the city treasurer?s office is continuing their house-to-house tax collection campaign in the urban barangays in line with City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano?s thrust to make the city?s coffer stable and fluid. (City Information Office)
Local investor eyes classy river resort in Oro
Admiring the natural and pristine beauty of the Cagayan de Oro river, a local investor has expressed keen interest to develop a classy river resort near the Vice President Emmanuel Pelaez bridge in sitio Taguanao, barangay Indahag, this city.
This was disclosed by City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano after the unnamed businessman disclosed his investment proposal during a recent meeting with the city mayor.
According to Mayor Emano, the river resort developer has already purchased a land property near the bridge where he is planning to establish his resort project.
The proposed river resort will boost of artistically designed cottages, a restaurant, a mini-hotel and a modern swimming pool using filtered-water from the river, Mayor Emano said.
If plans don?t miscarry, the development of the proposed river resort project will hopefully start early next year, the mayor added.
