City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano, together with members of the city council headed by Vice Mayor Michelle T. Spiers, will lead city hall officials and employees in the delivery of basic services to the people of Agusan during the whole-day activity.
Various services available during the PPP include free medical consultation; dental; circumcision; dispersal of seedlings of vegetables, fruit and forest trees; nutritional feeding; birth registration; livestock dispersal; animal vaccination and treatment; real property assessment; reading of different books and magazines; issuance of community tax certificates, among other services.
One of the highlights of the PPP is the mass wedding ceremony where Mayor Emano will administer the solemnization of the wedding of unwed couples who have been living together for at least five years.
Aside from the PPP, Agusan barangay chair Retty Yacapin together with Mayor Emano will distribute PhilHealth cards to the indigent families in the said barangay.
A total of 34,000 indigent families in the city will benefit from the city government’s Health Care Program for the Indigents aimed at addressing the health and hospitalization needs of the city’s poorest of the poor who cannot afford the high cost of hospitalization.
The city government spent a total of P6 Million for the Health Program for the Indigents. With their PhilHealth cards, even the city’s poorest of the poor can now avail of quality health care and medical treatment in the city’s tertiary hospitals which are accredited with the PhilHealth.
The PPP is a regular program of the city government that aims to reach out to the people in the rural and hinterland barangays by bringing the government’s basic services right before their doorsteps. (City Information Office)
